So far May has been all about engagement sessions, including today’s post featuring Lisa & Dan! ENGAGED: Carolynne & Christopher – Westfield Heritage Village Engagement Session

This weekend included my first-time visit to Westfield Heritage Village in Rockton, which has officially made it into my top 5 list of favorite locations! Making it extra special was the fact that one of the heritage homes on the property has a place in the family history of today’s soon-to-be-a-bride Carolynne. Carolynne & Christopher’s wedding is coming up quickly and we had so much fun discovering Westfield and capturing this season of their life….take a peek at this beautiful couple and stay tuned for more of them on the blog in July!

I love it when couples want to personalize their engagement sessions and that was the case earlier this week when I met up with Sharon & Ian for their Toronto engagement session! Music has been a BIG part of their life so I was very excited to learn that Ian had arranged for their session to begin at Long & McQuade!! A special THANK YOU to the amazing staff who were so gracious and a special shout-out to the ‘guys at the rental desk’ who offered up a demo of their dry-ice machine and laser lights. xoxo Our second half was at one of my favorite parks in Toronto: Rosetta McLean. Every engagement session is a discovery session of little details that make a couple unique. It’s one of the coolest parts of my job. Sometimes it’s the way they look at each other , the way they hold hands, the little thing he does to make her laugh and sometimes it’s the…..JUMP!

This weekend it was Kiara & Brett’s Grimsby engagement session. Not unlike many of my couples who are in the midst of multiple changes leading up to their wedding day, Kiara and Brett added moving to the list of things to do this spring. Before they said goodbye to Grimsby, they asked to shoot their engagement session at the stunning Italianate style B&B, on whose grounds they had lived for a year in the carridge house. I’m excited for you to see the images below….and excited to capture this beautiful couple’s wedding day in August!

The Language of Flowers

I wrestle with whether my favorite flower is the Lilac or the Lily of the Valley. Both are wrapped up in memories of my mother who would display large bunches of fragrant lilacs throughout our home when I was in grade school. And every spring she would tie together a humble bouquet of Lily of the Valley which grew in our garden, alongside the rubarb plants, for me to take to my teacher. It’s funny what we remember….

Purple lilacs symbolize the first emotions of love….
White lilacs symbolize youthful innocence and memories…
Lilly of the Valley symbolizes sweetness, humility, returning happiness, trustworthyness
